Surrender & Trust

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:1-2

A question that all of us ask the Lord daily, in seasons of change or waiting, Lord WHAT is your will for me? We agonize and stress and lose sleep over this like we have to figure it all out ourselves. We wait like He is going to drop us off a written letter with exact instructions on what to do, what job to apply for, what person to marry, should I move here? We strive and become discouraged. When in truth, Paul spells it out pretty clearly for us in these verses. The actual act of surrender is not easy and it must be something we do daily, but as we do this, and as we allow ourselves to be transformed into His image day to day, we prove what is the GOOD, ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT WILL of God for our lives. We are not called to figure it all out, especially not to strive or dive into anxiety over it, but instead walk in daily surrender and trust, knowing that He wants to use us and mold us, and therefore make His perfect will on display in our lives. This is His perfect will, that we look more and more like Him and fully surrender our lives. That's it. The rest are just details.

Proverbs 3:5-6 is another good reminder for us as we learn this act of daily surrender to the Lord. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Thank you Jesus for Your mercy as we practice this surrender and trust. Have Your perfect will and way in and through us, amen
